No Account? No Problem.
Most tools lock their best features behind a sign-up wall. ClipThoughts doesn't. Paste any article URL or drop in a PDF and you get the full reading experience immediately — highlights, notes, and an AI assistant — all saved locally in your browser.
Reading Articles as a Guest
Paste any article URL into ClipThoughts — a blog post, a news story, a long-form essay. ClipThoughts strips out the ads and clutter and gives you a clean, focused reader. Select any sentence to highlight it and attach a note. Your annotations are stored in your browser, not on a server, so they're always there when you come back.
Working with PDFs as a Guest
Drop a PDF into the viewer — a research paper, a contract, a study guide. Navigate pages with keyboard shortcuts (← →), zoom in on dense text, and highlight passages directly on the page. Each highlight creates a timestamped note pinned to that exact location in the document.
The Notes Panel
On the right side of the screen, a resizable notes panel shows all your annotations in order. You can drag the divider to give more space to reading or to notes, depending on what you need. Dark mode is available for late-night sessions.
AI Agent — Even for Guests
The AI Agent tab lets you ask questions about what you've highlighted. Type @ to pull up your notes and ask: "What does this mean?" or "Summarise this passage in plain English." The AI sees exactly what you selected, not a vague summary of the whole document.
Why Stay as a Guest?
- Zero friction: Start reading and annotating in seconds.
- Private by default: Notes live in your browser — nothing leaves your device.
- Upgrade when ready: Create a free account to sync notes across devices and build collections.
Whether you're researching, studying, or just want to remember what you read — ClipThoughts makes annotation effortless, no account required.
