Step 1 — Create a Collection
Start by creating an Artificial Intelligence collection. Collections are your research folders — group papers by topic, project, or course so nothing gets lost.
Step 2 — Add the Paper from arXiv
Paste any arxiv.org URL (abstract or PDF) into the Add Paper form. ClipThoughts automatically fetches the title and authors, converts the abstract URL to a direct PDF link, and saves the paper to your collection. No manual renaming needed.
Step 3 — Highlight Key Passages
Select any text in the PDF viewer — a sentence, a paragraph, an equation. A floating color picker appears. Choose yellow for definitions, blue for methodology, pink for things to revisit. Each highlight is saved as a note with the page number so you can jump back instantly.
Step 4 — Ask Gemini About Your Highlights
Switch to the AI Agent tab in the right panel. Type @ and a dropdown shows all your highlights numbered. Select one — say, @1 the multi-head attention passage — and ask a question. The highlighted text is sent as context, so Gemini answers precisely about that passage, not the paper in general.
